A new review of lice treatments documents increasing resistance to older treatments along with promising new pediculicides.
The review by Bohl et al., published in the September to October edition of the Journal of Pediatric Nursing reviewed 59 recent articles from several databases, with greater prominence given to meta-analyses and controlled clinical trials.
The review covers resistance and appropriate changes to treatment regimen; a summary of new treatment options for head lice, as well as environmental and preventative measures to prevent head lice spreading.
