The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned an internet promotion for a head lice repelling product...
The move — one the first rulings made since the ASA's remit was expanded to include digital marketing — came after health charity Maperton Trust began marketing a badge-type device it claimed repelled lice.
The ASA found no proof to support the claims and the Trust had to remove the claims from its website. An ASA spokesperson said: "Advertising, wherever it appears, should be legal, decent, honest and truthful. The ASA's first ruling against a website owner reminds industry of the importance of sticking to the rules in their own online spaces." More...
